    Revive Us Again Lord

Friday, June 20, 2008, 10:10 PM EST [General]

    "REVIVE US AGAIN LORD"

    Scripture Text: Psalm 85: 4-9

Intro: The churches greatest need today is genuine revival. The pastors and leaders has offered a variety of solutions to the church problems. They have discussed a variety of plans that could make a difference in our churches. all the solutions they have discussed could help. It does help the surfaces issues but we need to get to the heart , the root matter of all the problems.   I have come to the conclusion with the help of the holy spirit we and the nation of churches need a spiritual revival . Some one may say why let me tell you why.

    1) The condition of the church demands it. The apathy (lack of enthusiasm or energy, emotional emptiness, boredom laziness) and backsliding(relapse into bad habit - fall back into wrongdoing or a bad habit after having attempted to change your behavior or to lose faith in a religion after being a believer) in our churches is staggering, sin is running ramped from the pulpit to the door. And this is not confined to one location it is nation wide.

     2) The proneness of our hearts to wander and stray from God dictates the need for revival . We are living in a secular culture that bombards us with temptation. we are in need of God's renewing and strengthening power.

    3) Finally our inability to turn ourselves to God necessitates a revival: only GOD can grant genuine revival. It is His great work the church needs today. Genuine revival that smashes the pride of our hearts. We have to take back the ground that we have surrendered to the devil and his emps. We need faith that stirs and renews us to repentance. We need to RETURN TO GOD'S WORD AND HIS POWER TO RUN THIS RACE.

REVIVE- means to bring or come back to life or consciousness, to impart or regain health or vigor, to restore to use or notice breathe life into.   REVIVAL: a meeting or series of meetings for the purpose of reawakening your faith. the process of bringing somebody back to life, consciousness, or full strength, renewed zeal to worship and obey God.

THE NEED OR REASONS FOR REVIVAL:

BROKEN HEART PS 34:18, 19, 18The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.  19Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

CONFESSION Psalm 66:17-19  I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue. 18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: 19 But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.

Repentance: 2 COR 7:10 10For godly grief and the pain God is permitted to direct, produce a repentance that leads and contributes to salvation and deliverance from evil, and it never brings regret; but worldly grief (the hopeless sorrow that is characteristic of the pagan world) is deadly [breeding and ending in death].

Turning From Sin: 2 CHR 7:14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.   2Tim 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.   AMP But the firm foundation of (laid by) God stands, sure and unshaken, bearing this seal (inscription): The Lord knows those who are His, and, Let everyone who names [himself by] the name of the Lord give up all iniquity and stand aloof from it.

Bite And Devour Gal 5:14, 15, 16. AMP For the whole Law [concerning human relationships] is [e]complied with in the one precept, You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself.(A) 15But if you bite and devour one another [in partisan strife], be careful that you [and your whole fellowship] are not consumed by one another. 16But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without

Spiritual Revival - 2 Chr 17:9 And they taught in Judah, and had the book of the law of the LORD with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people.

2Chrn 34:30 And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the people, great and small: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of the LORD.

Neh 8:3 And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.

Cleansing 2Chrn 29:5-8  And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place.

6For our fathers have trespassed, and done that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of the LORD, and turned their backs.

7Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense nor offered burnt offerings in the holy place unto the God of Israel.

8Wherefore the wrath of the LORD was upon Judah and Jerusalem, and he hath delivered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing, as ye see with your eyes.

I pray that this is a blessing to you. Your Sister In Christ :-)

    SPIRITUAL INTIMACY 2

Thursday, May 1, 2008, 09:25 PM EST [General]

Intimacy With God; What Is It?

•1.  Many of God's people think they know the King, but they don't, and it's cost them their life.
•a.  I'm not talking salvation, but life...spiritual vitality, power, effectiveness, impact, punch, meaning, fulfillment!
Jesus said He came to give us life, and life abundantly.
    The word "abundantly" means, overflowing.
    • Not a dribbling...not up to the brim...but an over- flowing.
•b. We know things about God, His word and His ways, but how many of us would say we know God?
    •  Don't confuse the two because there is a difference between knowing things about God and knowing Him.
    • You say... well...what do you mean by "know"?
    •c. Define, "know"
    • the hebrew word for "know" is yada
    • the greek word for "know" is ginosko.
Both speak of an intimate knowedege gained by getting up close to something.
•d.  Which statement more closely describes your relationship with God:
    • "I know a lot of things about God." or...
•"I know God personally, intimately. He's real to me. I enjoy God and have fellowship with Him."
Most Christians claim the first statement instead OF the second.
     Jesus said:
"And this is eternal life, that they may know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ Whom Thou hast sent."
    -John 17:3
     Jerimiah said:
"Thus says the Lord, "Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boast, boast of this.....that he understands and knows Me...."
    - Jeremiah 9:23
•e. Part of the new covenant included the guarantee that we would now be able to know God intimately..... Jeremiah. 31:31- 35
Let Look At God's Covenant: (The word Covenant in Hebrew,
A contract or agreement between two parties. In the Old Testament the Hebrew word berith is always thus translated. Berith is derived from a root which means "to cut," and hence a covenant is a "cutting," with reference to the cutting or dividing of animals into two parts, and the contracting parties passing between them, in making a covenant (Genesis 15; Jeremiah 34:18, 19).
The corresponding word in the New Testament Greek is diatheke, which is, however, rendered "testament" generally in the Authorized Version. It ought to be rendered, just as the word berith of the Old Testament, "covenant."
This word is used (1) of a covenant or compact between man and man (Genesis 21:32), or between tribes or nations (1 Samuel 11:1; Joshua 9:6, 15). In entering into a convenant, Jehovah was solemnly called on to witness the transaction (Genesis 31:50), and hence it was called a "covenant of the Lord" (1 Samuel 20:8). The marriage compact is called "the covenant of God" (Proverbs 2:17), because the marriage was made in God's name. Wicked men are spoken of as acting as if they had made a "covenant with death" not to destroy them, or with hell not to devour them (Isaiah 28:15, 18).
The word is used with reference to God's revelation of himself in the way of promise or of favour to men. Thus God's promise to Noah after the Flood is called a covenant (Genesis 9; Jeremiah 33:20, "my covenant"). We have an account of God's covenant with Abraham (Genesis 17, Compare Leviticus 26:42), of the covenant of the priesthood (Numbers 25:12,13; Deuteronomy 33:9; Nehemiah 13:29), and of the covenant of Sinai (Exodus 34:27,28; Leviticus 26:15), which was afterwards renewed at different times in the history of Israel (Deuteronomy 29; Joshua 1:24; 2Chr. 15; 23; 29; 34; Ezra 10; Nehemiah 9). In conformity with human custom, God's covenant is said to be confirmed with an oath (Deuteronomy 4:31; Psalms 89:3), and to be accompanied by a sign (Genesis 9; 17). Hence the covenant is called God's "counsel," "oath," "promise" (Psalms 89:3, 4; 105:8-11; Hebrews 6:13-20; Luke 1:68-75). God's covenant consists wholly in the bestowal of blessing (Isaiah 59:21; Jeremiah 31:33, 34).

    BEING BORN AGAIN

Monday, March 31, 2008, 02:07 PM EST [General]

    YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN

These are the words Jesus spoke to one of the most religious men of his day (John 3:1-8). Nicodemus had come to Jesus one night to inquire about His new doctrine. Nicodemus was a Pharisee and a ruler of the Jews. He believed in God, he prayed, fasted, tithed, attended worship services, read the Scriptures and tried to keep high moral standards. Yet, with all these credentials, Jesus told him he had to be born again in order to enter the kingdom of God.

    The Word and the Spirit

Jesus said, "... Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."(John 3:3). "... Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God' (John 3:5). Later in the book of John he said, "You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you" (John 15:3). Paul wrote that Christ gave Himself to sanctify and cleanse the church with the washing of water by the WORD (Ephesians 5:26). Peter wrote that we are born again "... not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, (1 Pet 1:23). The WORD is the seed that comes into your heart and causes faith to grow.

Not only must you have God's Word in order to be born again, but you must have God's Spirit. It is "not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the HOLY SPIRIT' (Titus 3:5).

There are several ingredients needed in making concrete. You need sand, cement, and water primarily. There is plenty of sand in the desert, but concrete doesn't appear just because it's there. There is an abundance of water in the ocean and plenty of sand, but the ocean is not full of concrete. Likewise in order for you to be saved, the Word and the Spirit must be mixed with repentance and faith in your heart.

    Believe and Confess

The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you CONFESS with your mouth the Lord Jesus and BELIEVE in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one BELIEVES unto righteousness and with the mouth CONFESSION is made unto salvation" (Rom 10:8-10).

Your faith in God's Word is expressed with your heart (believe) and with your mouth (confess). If you truly believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, there is no reason you should not be willing to confess him as Lord. The moment you believe in your heart upon Jesus and confess Him as your Lord and Savior, you are born again.

"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, {even} to those who believe in His name," (John 1: 12).

    Saved by Grace through Faith

There is a mixture of God's grace and power with your will and faith. It is not just all of God, and certainly it is not just all up to you. It takes both GOD'S ABILITY and YOUR WILLINGNESS to bring about the new birth.

"For by grace you have been SAVED through FAITH, and that NOT OF YOURSELVES; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast" (Eph 2:8-9).

We could never be saved except by the pure grace of God. Man is certainly undeserving according to his own merits. It is God's power working through His Word and Spirit that brings about the new birth. Yet without an attitude of repentance and faith, God's power will not work in a man's heart. Man's will must be obedient to God's will before he can receive God's blessings.

    A New Creation

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new" (2 Cor 5:17).

The new birth makes you a brand new creation. You are created after the image of Jesus Christ (Colossians 3:10). This is done by RENEW11'G THE MiND WITH GOD'S WORD, and submitting your body to the authority of that word (Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:23-24).

    Into god's Kingdom

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: RE HAS DELIVERED US FROM THE POWER OF DARKNESS, AND TRANSLATED US INTO THE KINGDOM OF THE SON OF HIS LOVE, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins" (Col 1:12-14).

When you are born again, you are taken out of Satan's kingdom of darkness, and you are placed into the kingdom of Jesus, the kingdom of light. It is not something you just hope or wish for. It is fact. The child of God does not have to be lorded over by Satan ever again. "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed" (John 8:36).

The Law of the Spirit of Life in

    Christ Jesus

This new kingdom is a spiritual kingdom; but just because salvation is basically a spiritual rebirth does not mean that is has no effect on your body, mind, or everyday living. It can and should have a great impact on every part of your life.

In every society, there are certain laws that govern the actions of the inhabitants of that area. It is the same in spiritual life. There are laws for those in Satan's kingdom, and there are laws for those in God's kingdom. The new birth gives you a new law. "THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS Has made me free from the law of sin and death" Romans 8:2).

The law of life includes love, joy, peace, happiness, prosperity, abundance, health, contentment, and blessings. These provisions are made for the Christian in the New Covenant. It is law -- spiritual law. You must enforce it in your life. God will back you. His Word is true and unchanging.

    Forgiveness ---Remission of Sins

The day you make Jesus your Lord and Savior you are forgiven of all your sins; in fact you were legally forgiven when Jesus gave His life as a ransom for you. But you do not experience that forgiveness until you receive it by faith.

Although a person may have committed many sins, the chief sin of the unsaved is NOT BELIEViNG ON CHRIST john 16:9). When a person gets that straightened out, the root of the problem is solved. The blood of Christ cleanses the heart the moment a person believes and confesses Him as Savior. Thus all the past sins are remitted or taken away by the powerful cleansing work of His blood (lJohn 1:7). ". . .We have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; (Eph 1:7).

    Water Baptism

It is clear from the scriptures that water baptism is important to the believer. In the Great Commission Jesus told His disciples, ". . .He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned" (Mark 16:15-16). Matthew records these words of Jesus in the 28th chapter and the 19th verse: "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit" Jesus himself was baptized by John in the Jordan River (Matthew 3:13-17

At the close of his message on the day of Pentecost, Peter told the Jews, ". . . Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38). Luke Records, "Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; (Acts 2:41).

Paul was baptized after his conversion (Acts 9: 18). He later baptized the believers at Ephesus(Acts 19:1-6). Those at Cornelius" house were baptized after they had received the Holy Ghost (Acts 10:44-48). The Philippian jailer and all his household were baptized after they had believed on Jesus (Acts 16:31-33).

    Assurance of Salvation

"And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God" (I Jn

    5:11-13).

If you meet the conditions given in God's Word for salvation, you can know you are saved. God's Word says that you can know. That is what you must stand on - His Word - Not your feelings, emotions, church membership, high morals, or sincerity.

    Pray this prayer out loud.

Heavenly Farther, in Jesus' name I repent of my sins and open my heart to let Jesus come inside of me. Jesus, you are my Lord and Savior. I believe you died for my sins and you were raised from the dead. Fill me with your Holy Spirit. Thank You Farther for saving me in Jesus name. Amen
